If using a pan, preheat it on low heat. For oven, preheat to 180°C (350°F).
Mix softened butter with minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and herbs/chili flakes if using.
Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
Sprinkle grated cheese evenly on top of the buttered side.
Place slices on a pan (buttered side up), cover with a lid, and cook on low heat until cheese melts and bottom is crispy. Or Bake for 7–10 minutes or until cheese melts and edges are golden.
Sprinkle extra herbs or chili flakes for added flavor.
Slice into halves or quarters and serve immediately.
