Nilgiri Tahr:

You can spot them in Eravikulam National Park (Kerala), Mukurthi National Park (Tamil Nadu). Endemic to the Western Ghats and endangered due to habitat fragmentation.

Red Panda:

You can spot them in Singalila National Park (West Bengal), Khangchendzonga National Park (Sikkim), and Namdapha National Park (Arunachal Pradesh). Endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.

Malabar Civet:

You can spot them in Western Ghats (Kerala and Karnataka) — extremely rare, possibly extinct. Fewer than 250 individuals believed to exist; sightings are extremely rare.

Himalayan Monal (Impeyan Pheasant):

You can spot them in Great Himalayan National Park (Himachal Pradesh), Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary (Uttarakhand). Although it’s the state bird of Uttarakhand, sightings are rare due to high-altitude habitats.

Snow Leopard:

You can spot them in Hemis National Park (Ladakh), Spiti Valley (Himachal Pradesh), and parts of Uttarakhand. Solitary, elusive, and lives in harsh high-altitude terrain.

Lion-tailed Macaque:

You can spot them in Silent Valley National Park (Kerala), Anamalai Hills (Tamil Nadu). One of the world’s most threatened primates, found only in the Western Ghats.

Dugong (Sea Cow):

You can spot them in Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park (Tamil Nadu), Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Vulnerable marine mammal, threatened by fishing and habitat degradation.

Kashmir Stag (Hangul):

You can spot them in Dachigam National Park (Jammu & Kashmir). Critically endangered, with only a few hundred left in the wild.
