Keep the outer skin on until you’re ready to eat. Peeling them too early exposes the fruit to air and speeds up spoilage.
Avoid plastic bags without airflow. Instead, use a paper bag or a perforated container to reduce moisture buildup and prevent mold.
Store litchis in the refrigerator (ideally at 5°C or 41°F) to slow down spoilage and browning. They can stay fresh for up to 7–10 days when properly chilled.
Do not wash litchis before storing them. Excess moisture can promote fungal growth. Wash only right before eating.
Litchis can absorb odors from nearby foods. Store them away from items like onions or garlic to preserve their natural aroma and flavor.
If the litchis are damp, gently pat them dry with a paper towel before storage to prevent rot.
Peel and remove the seeds, then store the pulp in an airtight container or freezer bag. Frozen litchis can last for 2–3 months and are great for smoothies or desserts.
