The hidden cabin in the car where unaccounted cash to the tune of ₹1.17 crore was hidden.
The Bekal police seized ₹1.17 crore in unaccounted money hidden in a secret compartment of a car at Thrikkannad in Kasaragod on Tuesday morning.
The cash was found during a routine vehicle inspection by the Bekal police around 6 a.m. The money was seized from Abdul Khader, a resident of Melaparamba, who had recently returned from the Gulf. He had been issued notice to produce valid documents to prove the source of the money.
The police said the seized amount was submitted before the Kanhangad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
