17.1 crore people out of poverty, employment situation improved, says World Bank



In a report on ‘India Poverty and Equity Brief’, the multilateral agency said that extreme poverty (living on less than $2.15 per day) has fallen to 2.3 per cent of the population in 2022-23 from 16.2 per cent in 2011-12.
