Man suffers gunshot wound – The Hindu


A 22-year-old man suffered a gunshot injury after he allegedly went to check a suspicious light in the bushes while riding his bike at night at Bakrabail, Manjeswaram. The victim, Savad, sustained wound to his thigh but is reportedly out of danger.

The incident occurred when Savad, on his way home, noticed a light coming from the bushes. He parked his bike by the roadside and approached the bushes, at which point he was reportedly shot.

However, Savad managed to return to the roadside and alert residents. He was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru where doctors confirmed that his injuries were not serious. Later, locals reportedly found a device attached to a tree with a barrel capable of firing.

The Manjeswaram police have launched an investigation.
