Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary Binoy Viswam will participate in the May Day celebrations of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) government in Sri Lanka. Though the CPI and JVP have been in touch for over a decade, this is the first official meeting between leaders of the two parties. The JVP’s recent victory in Sri Lanka is significant at a time when corporate and right wing forces have been gaining ground across the world, Mr.Viswam said in a press release here on Tuesday.
