Private school in Bengaluru booked for forging fire safety NOC to avail affiliation

The Vidhana Soudha police have registered a case against a city-based private school for allegedly forging the fire safety NOC to avail CBSE affiliation.

The accused, identified as Gurappa Naidu, chairman of the BGS Bloomfield School in Thyagaraja Nagar, and its trustee, Sunitha Naidu, had allegedly submitted forged documents to misguide the High Court, which was revealed during the verification.

Based on a complaint filed by Sudha Katwa, a city-based advocate, the Vidhana Souudha police have charged the accused under several sections including forgery.

The forgery came to light when Ms. Katwa filed a writ petition against the school for allegedly constructing a building on the stormwater drain. The accused filed objections to the petition along with a set of documents, including the NOC on fire safety measures from the fire and emergency services.

Suspecting the credibility of the certificate, which was obtained from the Anjinapura office instead of the jurisdictional Chamarajapet office, Ms. Katwa sought the details of the certificate through RTI and found that no such NOC was issued.

The matter was brought to the notice of the court before filing a complaint with the police.

The accused had even tampered with the building sanction plan which was taken for the construction of the hostel but they had built ground plus four storeyed building, she alleged, adding that the accused did not have occupancy certificate and were running the school illegally.
