Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday said patriotism was not the political slogan of the DMK.
“True patriotism constitutes a federal India where states enjoy powers. I will remain firm in my commitment to protect the spirit of Indian Constitution and prevent the entry of communalism into Tamil Nadu,” he said.
In a statement here, he said the DMK was committed to political decency and had never hesitated to act against those who had crossed the limit. Mr Stalin said he shook hands with all the members of Assembly including the Deputy Leader of the Opposition on the last day of the session.
“I can hear the voice of people’s mind saying that it is political decency. DMK founder Anna, our leader Kalaignar and late general secretary Professor [K. Anbazhagan] taught me these traits,” he said.
“We follow political decency. We do not hesitate to take action when one of us cross the limit. This is the only way we can prove our responsibility to the people who have reposed faith on us,” he said.
Mr Stalin said the Dravidian Model government had benefitted every family in the State and the DMK had become the “family party of Tamil Nadu” as complained by the opposition. “That is why I said in the Assembly that the DMK would form the government for the 7th time and version 2.0 is loading,” he said.
