Engineering college in Cuddalore secures autonomous status

The CK College of Engineering and Technology (CKCET), Cuddalore, has been accorded autonomous status for 10 years by the University Grants Commission.

According to an official press note, the autonomy empowers the CavinKare-patronised academic institution to independently design curriculum, industry-aligned courses, emerging technology modules, and implement flexible real-world pedagogy.

The autonomy was conferred based on CKCET’s academic governance, student success, and commitment to educational excellence. Amudhavalli Ranganathan, Executive Director, CK Group of Educational Institutions and Director, New Initiatives and E-Commerce, CavinKare Pvt. Ltd. said: “The institution’s journey to autonomy reflects years of focused effort, innovation, and student-centric growth.”

The institution also announced collaborations with 15 leading industry partners to provide students with real-world, hands-on learning experience. In addition, the college will soon launch a blended programme, with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, preparing students for the evolving global job market.
