NLC India Limited’s month-long rural sports event draws to a close

The valedictory function of a month-long sports event, organised by NLC India Limited (NLCIL) for youth belonging to the peripheral villages of Neyveli, concluded on Wednesday.

NLCIL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli handed over the prizes to the winners at the event, which featured cricket, volleyball, kabaddi tournaments for men, and throwball for women.

According to a press release, more than 2,100 athletes from 65 villages in and around Neyveli had registered their names for the event.

Mr. Motupalli emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting sports and youth development.

The programme helped recognise the talent of emerging sportspersons from peripheral villages, paving the way for their participation at State and national-level sports events, he further said.

NLCIL Directors Sumesh Chandra Soman (Mines), Samir Swarup (Human Resources) and Prasanna Kumar Acharya (Finance), and senior officials were present.
