Sridhar Babu inaugurates mobile canteen and other women-led business units in Manthani


The Congress government is implementing a slew of key initiatives to encourage members of women self-help groups (SHGs) to set up business units under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme for their economic empowerment, said IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu.

He was speaking after inaugurating a mobile canteen, a stitching unit, and a women’s garment shop, set up under the government’s flagship Indira Mahila Shakti scheme in Manthani town of Peddapalli district on Thursday.

Peddapalli Collector Koya Sree Harsha and others were present.

Mr. Sridhar Babu said that the State government is promoting entrepreneurship among women by providing financial help, training and skill development to enable them run the women-led enterprises successfully and achieve economic independence.

He said as many as 410 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned to homeless poor people under the first phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme in Manthani town.
