The structure with deviations at RTC Crossroads which the chief of Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency A.V .Ranganath inspected on Friday has a status quo order on it issued by the city civil court, and GHMC is in the process of filing a counter, a clarification from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said.
Mr. Ranganath, who went on the inspection after he received complaints, mentioned that the structure had permission for four floors, but was raised with six floors. License was given without occupancy certificate, and the building, meant for a hospital, occupied part of the road space.
Responding to a news article published on the inspection, titled ‘HYDRAA Chief A.V. Ranganath criticises officials over illegal hospital structure’ published on May 3, 2025, GHMC, through a press release, clarified that the structure had permission under ‘residential’ category for stilt plus four floors, issued on March 19, 2019. The owner/builder has constructed a cellar plus five floors and an additional penthouse on sixth floor. He also used the building to house a hospital despite the residential permission.
In view of the deviations, the owner was issued initial notice on June 19, 2024, and also further orders to rectify the deviations and conform to the norms as per the building permissions, the note said.
The owner has instead, approached the civil court and obtained status quo order, besides applying for regularisation under the GHMC Act, 1955. The regularisation request has been rejected, the note informed.
