An elaborate organising committee with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Haj Minister V. Abdurahiman, and MPs E.T. Mohammed Basheer and P.V. Abdul Wahab as patrons was formed here on Saturday (May 3, 2025) for the smooth conduct of the Haj embarkation from Karipur. Ten sub-committees were also formed.
Haj Committee chairman Husain Saqafi Chullikkode is also the chairman of the organising committee. The first Haj flight from the State will depart from Karipur at 1.10 a.m. on May 10. Pilgrims travelling on the first flight must report at the Haj camp on the morning of May 9. A total of 31 flights will carry 5,361 passengers from Karipur, with the last flight scheduled for May 22.
T.V. Ibrahim, MLA, presided over the meeting held at Haj House, Karipur, on Saturday. Mr. Saqafi Chullikkode inaugurated the meeting.
