Vegetable show concludes in The Nilgiris

The valedictory function of the 13th Vegetable Show, the event that kickstarts the summer festival season in the Nilgiris, was held at Nehru Park in Kotagiri on Sunday.

As part of the show, vegetables that were exhibited by the Department of Horticulture for vegetable gardens were given away. Rolling prizes and prizes for vegetable kitchen garden competitions in Coonoor, Udhagamandalam and Kotagiri were also handed over. And, special prizes for the different government departments for successfully conducting the vegetable show were also presented.

Thousands of tourists thronged the park to witness the show. Present at the valedictory function was H.R. Kaushik, Additional Collector, and officials from the Nilgiris district administration.

The next summer show will be the Spices Show in Gudalur from May 9 to 11 and the Rose Show in Udhagamandalam from May 10 to 12.
