Kia Carens Clavis unveiled as Premium MPV with enhanced features and design

Kia Carens Clavis Unveiled: Kia has officially unveiled the Carens Clavis, a more premium version of the current Carens MPV, with bookings set to begin on May 9 at 12:01 am via Kia’s website and its dealerships. The Clavis name signifies a more upscale positioning for the MPV, offering updated design elements, enhanced tech features, and improved safety provisions.

Exterior design

The Carens Clavis features a more refined and modern design, borrowing elements from Kia’s premium models. It sports the brand’s latest ‘digital tiger face,’ first seen on the flagship EV9, which incorporates sleek LED DRLs flowing into triangular-shaped LED headlights. The MPV’s front and rear bumpers have been reworked for a more angular look, complemented by silver bash plates adding a touch of contrast. Although the silhouette remains unchanged, the Carens Clavis boasts new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear now features a thicker central LED light band, enhancing the car’s bold appearance.

Buyers can choose from eight exterior colours: Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.

Premium updates

The cabin of the Carens Clavis retains the layout of the original Carens, with the option of either a 6-seat or 7-seat configuration. However, it stands out with updated seat upholstery and lighter door trims for a more premium feel. The most notable upgrades are found in the front section of the cabin, where the Clavis introduces the 22.62-inch dual-screen setup, shared with the Seltos. This includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the Clavis features new-design AC vents, a refreshed control interface for the Auto AC, and a flat-bottom steering wheel similar to the one in the Syros.

Performance & variants

The Carens Clavis will be available in a range of 6 engine and gearbox combinations, offering a choice of 7 variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. The Clavis also comes with a comprehensive ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, further enhancing its safety credentials.

This premium MPV from Kia aims to offer a more luxurious driving experience while retaining the practicality and versatility of the Carens.
