Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has on Thursday reviewed the security preparedness in key regions in the State in view of the military tension with Pakistan.

The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati, had a ‘long’ discussion on ensuring safety of strategically important locations in the State including Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam and Nagayalanka, among others, according to sources.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure coastal protection and safety of the fishermen while thanking and congratulating the armed forces for successfully carrying out the Operation Sindoor.

The State Cabinet had approved a proposal to replace ‘Andhra Pradesh Capital’ in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 with Amaravati. It also approved various proposals put up earlier by the Capital Regional Development Authority for taking up construction works in the upcoming capital project.
