Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and four-time MP Pinaki Misra has tied knot with Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra in Garmany. 65-year-old Misra and 51-year-old Moitra got married on May 3 in Germany, and the couple kept their marriage a secret.
The two had been friends for a few years, and people close to them knew about the possibility of their relationship turning into marriage. The wedding was held in Berlin to avoid crowds, according to Zee Business sources close to the bride and groom.
Moitra had earlier worked at the American financial institution JP Morgan & Chase and was also a vice0president there. Her first marriage was with Danish financial expert Lars Brorsen, which later broke up. Pinaki’s first marriage was with Sangeeta Mishra of Odisha, from whom he is also divorced.
Both Mahua and Pinaki’s political journey started with Congress. Mahua joined Congress in 2009 and later joined Trinamool Congress. Pinaki, on the other hand, started his political career with Congress in 1996, but later joined the BJD.
