Bharat Biotech co-founder Suchitra Ella on Friday took charge as the Adviser for Handlooms and Handicrafts Development, at a ceremony held at APCO Bhavan in Vijayawada.
Ms. Suchitra Ella, a Padma Bhushan awardee, will serve in the post for two years, offering guidance to strengthen the handloom and handicrafts sectors in the State. Her role includes advising on policy reforms, promoting sustainability, enhancing market access, and encouraging digital platforms and GI recognition for artisan products.
Handlooms and Textiles Commissioner Rekha Rani congratulated Ms. Suchitra Ella on her new role.
She expressed confidence that Ms. Suchitra Ella’s leadership and experience in innovation and enterprise would provide a significant boost to the traditional handloom sector.
