Congress party will become strong and face local body polls with confidence, says Srikakulam DCC president

Srikakulam District Congress Committee president Ambati Krishna Rao on Sunday hoped that the Congress party would become a strong force very soon and face local body elections confidently whenever they are held in the district. He attended as the chief guest for the party’s flag hoisting festival organised at Etcherla in Srikakulam district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the people had understood that only the Congress party would ensure welfare and development by comparing the party’s administration with the successive governments since 2014 when the State was bifurcated.

Mr. Krishna Rao said that the party would organise a flag hoisting festival in all the Assembly constituencies and identify the potential leaders who would be able to strengthen the party in the respective mandals and villages. Mr. Krishna Rao said many YSRCP leaders and others, who joined other parties, were keen to return to the Congress fold. He said that PCC president Y.S. Sharimila’s suggestions were being taken before inviting the new leaders into the party.
