The Kothagudem-based Singareni Collieries Women’s College (SCWC) has planned a host of year-long events under the aegis of the Singareni Collieries Educational Society (SCES) to mark its Golden Jubilee year (1975-2025). The main event will be held as part of its Golden Jubilee fete in the coal town from September 11 to 13.
Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram on Wednesday unveiled the SCWU’s Golden Jubilee logo in virtual mode from the Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad, SCCL sources said.
To make higher education accessible to students in the coal belt spanning the tribal heartland, the SCWU was established in Kothagudem in 1975.
The college has distinguished alumni who have made a mark for themselves in various spheres.
The SCWU is currently affiliated to Kakatiya University. It has one junior college and one Degree and PG College in Kothagudem.
