Bharat-NCAP Crash Test 2025: Tata Nexon.ev 45 variant secures 5-star safety rating

Bharat-NCAP Crash Test 2025: Domestic automaker Tata Motors’ newly introduced variant, the Tata Nexon.ev 45, has secured the prestigious 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat-NCAP) on Wednesday, April 23. With this achievement, all existing variants of the Nexon.ev line up now meet the 5-star safety standards set by Bharat NCAP.

The company launched the Nexon.ev 45 kwh last year, introducing a large battery variant. The car is equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack that supports fast charging.

Tata Motors claims that this car offers a range of up to 489 km in both urban and extra-urban conditions. The starting price for this variant of the Nexon.ev is Rs 13.99 lakh, while the top variant is priced at Rs 17.19 lakh.

What is Bharat NCAP?

Bharat NCAP is a car crash test agency launched by the Government of India in October 2023. Since its inception, the agency has been awarding safety ratings to all vehicles sold in India. These ratings are provided separately for adult and child occupant protection, with fixed points for both categories.

According to Bharat NCAP’s criteria, a vehicle must score 41 points for child safety and 27 points for adult safety to earn a 5-star rating. The crash testing process includes three types of tests: frontal impact, side impact, and pole side impact tests.
