Due to cloudy weather in the city on Thursday, Mangalureans missed the ‘no shadow day’ phenomenon.
According to a release issued by the Pilikula Regional Science Centre, it had made all arrangements for people to experience the natural phenomenon. “Apart from talks by experts, models were kept at the centre to explain the phenomenon. As it was cloudy around noon, this phenomenon could not be experienced,” the release stated.
Observers who had come to the centre to experience the phenomenon were given solar filter fitted telescopes to look at solar spots, which are temporary dark spots found on the sun during the phenomenon, the release mentioned.
