No one should play politics over terror attack, says Sharad Pawar

No one should play politics over the recent terror attack in Kashmir, the former Union Minister Sharad Pawar said in Belagavi on Friday.

“What has happened in Pahalgam is an attack on India and not just on tourists. It is our responsibility to see that we do not play politics on the issue of terror. We should instead press the Union government to take proper action against such issues,” he told reporters.

“We should tell them that there can be no compromise on the issue of terrorism. We need stern action against it. The Centre should start taking all necessary steps, including a detailed investigation, to see such incidents are not repeated in future,” he said.

He was here to participate in a function organised by a private school.

All senior leaders of his party have at a meeting decided unanimously that no one should play politics over the issue. However, strict action, based on due legal process, should start immediately, he said.

He did not respond to queries on complaints by some leaders and victims about the “failure of intelligence and security agencies”.
