Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary. T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Saturday (April 26, 2025) accused the DMK government of having failed to prevent the loss of human lives in spite of a number of explosions that Sivakasi in the Virudhunagar district had witnessed over the years.
In a post on his social media handle after the reported incident in the district, which left three persons dead and seven injured, Mr. Dhinakaran said that non-implementaion of safety measures was cited as the main reason for the explosions that occurred in the last four years, leading to the death of over 100 workers. He called upon Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to expedite relief measures and the provision of healthcare to the affected persons, besides ensuring the safety of workers.
