World Veterinary Day celebrated in Guntur district


World Veterinary Day organised by the Veterinary Association was celebrated at the Kothapeta Veterinary Hospital in Guntur district.

Guntur district Collector S. Nagalakshmi, who participated as the chief guest, shared her personal bond with veterinary services, recalling her father’s service as a veterinarian near Madurai and praising the district’s veterinary care. She commended the swift surgery on an injured cow following the intervention of a High Court Judge.

Joint Director O. Narasimha Rao emphasised the World Veterinary Day 2025 theme “Animal Health – One Team,” and stressed veterinarians’ role in public nutrition. Retired experts D. Rajani Kanth and R. Lakshmi Prasad were also honoured.
