“We will not be the first one to attack anyone. But if we are attacked, we will not sit quiet. This is our country’s stand,” Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs H. K. Patil said in Belagavi on April 28 in response to a question on whether India should go to war with Pakistan.
“Terrorism is a very serious, national issue. All decisions regarding this issue will be taken by the Prime Minister. It is not a matter for debate or politics. There is no need for everyone to comment on it,” Mr. Patil said while participating in a protest against the Union Government against price rise.
Minister of Women and Child Development, and Disabled and Senior Citizens Empowerment Laxmi Hebbalkar said that the Congress would support all measures initiated by the Centre to combat terror. “Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi have clarified that the Centre has the full support of the Congress in all its strategies and measures. There is no doubt about it. What happened in Pehalgam is heinous, and needs to be dealt with strictly,” she said.
