Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar made a renewed push for establishment of an ESI Hospital in Karimnagar.

Mr Sanjay on Wednesday met Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi and made a renewed appeal to the latter in this regard, a press release said.

He emphasised that Karimnagar is rapidly transforming into a medical hub and that a large number of people from northern Telangana districts travel to Karimnagar for medical treatment.

Stating that the region has a significant population of weavers and workers including beedi workers, he said setting up of an ESI hospital in Karimnagar would greatly benefit these labourers.

Mr Sanjay also sought allocation of ₹10 crore for setting up a synthetic track at Ambedkar Stadium and sanction of funds for the construction of a multipurpose hall under ‘Khelo India’ scheme at Satavahana University in Karimnagar. Mr. Mandaviya responded positively to Mr Sanjay’s requests regarding the three key proposals.
