Security forces conducted an extensive combing operation at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport following yet another bomb threat received on Tuesday evening.
The threat, which emerged ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the city, prompted heightened security measures at the airport. The e-mail reportedly claiming responsibility from “Hizbul Mujahideen”, stated that bombs have been planted in a toilet and at the airport’s exit point, set to detonate within 24 hours.
Following a thorough search, the authorities confirmed that the threat was a hoax. Nonetheless, the security checks will continue for the next two days, sources said.
