The BJP government at the Centre is framing policies, enacting laws and implementing them in the name of national development only for the benefit of capitalists, said Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Thursday.
In a statement, he said the exploitation against the working class continues all over the world. Capitalism has evolved into an imperialist power. While adopting elements like democracy and social justice, capitalism continues to intensify its exploitation of the working masses in newer forms, he said.
The rights of the labour class are being increasingly suppressed, while capitalists and multinational giants are gaining more power. This situation is clearly visible in India as well. For their benefit, the ruling BJP government at the Centre frames policies, enacts laws, and implements them under the guise of national development, he alleged.
The 44 existing labour laws were consolidated into just four codes and all of them were designed with a clear bias to serve corporate interests. The current BJP government is functioning in a manner that crushes not just factory workers, but also agricultural and all unorganised laborers, he added.
