Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) launched the Tamil Nadu Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, which aims to promote the production of electronic components in the State.
An official release stated that Tamil Nadu, through this initiative, was expected to attract investments worth ₹30,000 crore and generate employment opportunities for 60,000 individuals.
To attract companies that benefit from the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme of the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Tamil Nadu government would offer incentives that match the subsidies announced under the Union government’s scheme.
Recalling that it formuated the Tamil Nadu Semiconductor and Advanced Electronics Policy 2024, which had paved the way for the State to emerge as a frontrunner in the production of electronic goods, the government said the Chief Minister launched this special scheme to strengthen the State’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
