CPI(M) leader flays A.K. Balan for his Facebook ‘eviction’ post

CPI(M)‘s former district secretary P. Unni has criticised senior party leader and former Minister A.K. Balan over a Facebook post where Mr. Balan referred to his exit from party positions as “eviction”.

Mr. Unni said that likening removal from party roles to “eviction” revealed a mindset that was inconsistent with true Communist principles. In his Facebook post, Mr. Balan had likened his exit from the central committee because of age limits to being on the verge of “eviction.” This had triggered criticism from different corners, including from Mr. Unni.

Mr. Unni, quoting Communist ideologue A.K. Gopalan, said that those prioritising parliamentary positions over party roles would risk facing displacements. He said it was predicted that people prioritising positions might face loss of privileges.
