CUMTA holds first executive committee meeting, discusses mobility plan for Chennai

Chennai Unified Metropolitan Authority (CUMTA), the nodal agency that brings together all agencies in the area of urban transport to ensure seamless urban mobility in Chennai, recently held its first executive committee meeting under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary N Muruganandam.

The meeting was held to discuss the various projects and studies undertaken by CUMTA, and the discussions focused on the detailed review of the Comprehensive Mobility Plan and Accessibility Enhancements, says a social media post by CUMTA.

The enhancements relate to metro stations, implementation of smart parking solutions, public transport improvements, multi-modal integration, advancements in metro and suburban rail projects, freight rail connectivity initiatives, development of intermediate public transport systems and cycling.

Officials from various departments, including Chennai Metro Rail, transport department and minor ports, attended the meeting.
