A 19-year-old delivery executive was abducted and killed by a gang of four to five people in Devanahalli police station limits on Friday (May 2, 2025).
The deceased Preetham was employed in a quick commerce company for the last five months.
He went to work on Friday and did not return home.
The murder came to light when Ramachandra H, father of Preetham came to his workplace to look for him.
Preetham S, colleague informed him that the accused Shrikanth had come along with four others and picked him up in a car and went away. His friend told Ramachandra that Preetham was in love with the cousin of the accused who was studying MBBS and was two years elder to him.
Srikanth had opposed this and allegedly assaulted Preetham a few days ago and warned him to stay away.
However, Preetham continue to talk to her leading to the abduction, he alleged.
Ramachandra received information from Devanahalli police later about a body found near a government primary school on Saturday.
Ramachandra went to check and confirmed it was Preetham. He was bleeding from mouth and nose with bruises all over his body indicating that he had been tortured and killed, the police said.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case of murder and abduction and efforts are on to track down the accused who are presently on the run.
