Doors locked, engine running: Lawyer’s dead body found 150 metres away from car

A man’s dead body was found 150 metres away from his vehicle, which was locked and had it engine and parking lights running near CV Raman State on NICE Road in Kengeri, Bengaluru.

At around 10:30 pm on May 2, Dr Prabhanjan A, a 47-year-old resident of Banashankari, received a call from a relative informing him that his relative, Jagadeesh H., who is a resident of Kengeri, had died on NICE Road.

The deceased was a practicing lawyer in Bengaluru.

Dr Prabhanjan rushed to the location and reached there at around 10:50 pm. He observed that the victim’s vehicle, a Kia Seltos car (KA-41-MC-9945), was damaged on both the left and right sides, its parking lights were on, the engine was running, and all four doors were locked.

About 150 meters away from the vehicle, Jagadeesh’s body was recovered. His head was severed with an injury in the centre of the skull. There were deep cuts on his left leg and stomach, and the back of the head completely open with brain matter exposed.

A complaint was filed at the Kengeri Police Station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) at 12:30 am on May 3.

Section 103 of the BNS deals with offences harming the human body and proscribes severe penalties, including death or life imprisonment along with a fine, to those guilty of murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is suspected that, considering the distance between the vehicle and the body, and that the car was locked from the inside, some unknown miscreants intentionally caused an accident at around 7 or 8 pm on May 2.

It is suspected that Jagadeesh was forced out of the vehicle, attacked and then murdered with a weapon. His mobile phone (9880190570) is also missing.

The complainant, Dr Prabhanjan, has requested that the unknown individuals who caused the accident and murdered his relative with malicious intent be identified, and appropriate legal action be taken against them.
