EV charger making unit opened in Hyderabad

EV charging infrastructure firm EVRE has opened an electric vehicle charger manufacturing facility at the Patancheru Industrial Development Area in Hyderabad.

From 3.3 kW AC to 360 kW DC, a diverse range of chargers will be manufactured at the facility that can produce 5,000 EV chargers a month, the company said in a release on Thursday.

The new facility will be producing 20,000 EV chargers over the upcoming months to meet EVRE’s order book. By 2026, the manufacturing capacity of the facility will be expanded to 10,000 chargers a month. The unit will generate over 50 local jobs.

“We are targeting large residential complexes across India that have little to no access to EV charging infrastructure… We aim to establish India as an EV charger manufacturing powerhouse with our proprietary technology with up to 70% localisation,” the Hyderabad-headquartered firm’s founder and CEO Krishna K Jasti said.
