Indian equities ended mildly higher on May 2 after a volatile session. Nifty closed above the 24,300 mark, led by gains in Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Maruti.
JSW Steel, Eicher Motors, and Hero MotoCorp dragged. While the BSE Midcap index slipped 0.4 per cent, smallcaps were flat. Sectorally, media, energy, IT, and oil & gas ended in green, but power, metal, and pharma stocks saw selling pressure.
