HSL launches two-day training programme ‘QUICK’ for contract workers in Visakhapatnam


A two-day quality improvement and compliance knowledge (QUICK) training programme was inaugurated at Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) here on Wednesday.

The HSL Director (shipbuilding) Capt. Venkateswarlu, who inaugurated it, encouraged participants to develop quality in workmanship across all streams of shipbuilding, and said that the programme is being conducted in bilingual language by in-house experts for the benefit of the workmen

The programme aims at benefiting approximately 2,000 contract workmen, enhancing their capabilities in shipbuilding technology, HSL CMD commodore Hemant Khatri, said in his message.

He said that contractor workmen are the backbone of HSL’s operations, and by empowering them with the right skills, they are building a stronger, more efficient, and more effective workforce, which will contribute to the nation’s maritime might.

This initiative is another step towards motivating and supporting HSL’s contract workmen, following the institution of Group Personal Accident Insurance policy. HSL is committed to continuing such trainings throughout the year, he added.
