‘If whole world followed Shiva…’: Tesla CEO Elon’s, father Errol Musk applauds PM Modi, plans to visit Ram Mandir


On his first visit to India, Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk — has expressed strong admiration for India’s rise on the world stage and its ancient spiritual heritage. 

In an interview an IANS interaction, the 79-year-old engineer and entrepreneur hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling India “already a world power.”  “India is the fourth-largest economy. That makes it a world power, whether people acknowledge it or not,” Musk said, praising the country’s quiet confidence and its growing global influence. 

He added, “Unlike others who aggressively assert themselves, India quietly contributes to the world.”

Errol Musk spoke at length about his growing interest in Sanatan Dharma and India’s spiritual traditions. “I think if the whole world followed Shiva, it would be all right,” he said, calling Hinduism “mind-bogglingly ancient” and “profound.” Musk plans to visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya during his trip to seek blessings and experience India’s spiritual depth firsthand.

He emphasised how Hindu philosophy offers an inclusive, peaceful worldview. “There’s a continuity and humility here that the modern world can learn from,” he said, drawing attention to India’s civilisational richness and spiritual resilience.

Applauds India’s push in renewable energy

At an event organised by Servotech Power Systems, Musk praised India’s commitment to clean energy. “India is doing the right thing encouraging innovation, not hindering it,” he said. Speaking alongside Servotech MD Raman Bhatia, Musk noted that India’s push toward solar energy aligns perfectly with global sustainability goals and reflects Modi’s future-facing vision.

Bhatia added that his company is actively working to replace fossil fuels with solar solutions, keeping in mind the government’s climate goals.

PM Modi: One of the finest leaders today

Musk had high praise for Prime Minister Modi, calling him “one of the finest leaders in the world today.” He highlighted the Prime Minister’s ability to balance economic progress with diplomatic tact. “It’s always a pleasure to watch him speak calm, confident, clear,” Musk said.

He also spoke positively about the relationship between Elon Musk and Modi, saying both have strategic interests to protect but are likely to reach a win-win partnership. “There has to be a Tesla manufacturing plant in India,” he added confidently.

‘its heartbreaking’: Errol Musk on Pahalgam attack

Reacting to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Musk expressed his concerns over instability in the region. “It’s heartbreaking. Ordinary people should not have to suffer,” he said. Without taking sides, he emphasised the need for mature dialogue and peaceful resolution, stating, “Enough is enough. Both nations need to find a solution.”
