Punjab vs Mumbai match shifted to Ahmedabad; here’s why

The IPL match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians which is scheduled for May 11 in Dharamshala has been shifted to Ahmedabad due to logistical reasons. The decision follows a bomb threat received by the Narendra Modi Stadium, reportedly through an email originating from Pakistan.

Anil Patel, Secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, confirmed that the BCCI requested the shift, and it has been accepted and finalized.

However, following the bomb threat on Wednesday, bomb disposal squads thoroughly searched the Narendra Modi Stadium. The venue is set to host two more IPL matches — Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants on May 14, and Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings on May 18.
