Jewellery stocks trade mixed as gold slips sharply; Thangamayil Jewellery, Titan gain up to 7%

Jewellery stocks in Thursday’s session (April 24, 2025) trade mixed with some of the prominent names including the likes of Thangamayil Jewellery, Titan, Vaibhav Global, PC Jeweller and Senco Gold traded higher. Meanwhile, others from the basket like Kalyan Jewellers, PN Gadgil Jewellers and Rajesh Exports trading down.

Thangamayil Jewellery shares at the last count traded higher by over 6 per cent at Rs 2,225 per share on the BSE.

Meanwhile, Titan shares traded with tad gains at Rs 3,361.7 per share on the BSE.

The movement in these stocks is notable after gold prices have cracked from its recent historic high of Rs 1,00,000 per 10 gm in most cities.

Experts view on Jewellery stocks

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking said, “Jewellery stocks are navigating choppy waters as gold prices hit record highs, surpassing ₹1,00,000 per 10 grams in April 2025. This sharp rise has dampened consumer demand in the mass-market segment, with many deferring purchases or opting for lighter, more affordable designs. Despite this, the sector shows resilience, supported by increased investment demand for gold as a safe-haven asset and favorable government measures, including a reduction in import duties.”

Established players like Titan, backed by strong brand equity and a diversified product mix, are better equipped to manage these challenges. For long-term gains, investors should focus on organised players with scale, brand strength, and pricing discipline to benefit from the sector’s structural growth, he added.
