Kia Carens Clavis launched in India at Rs 11.49 lakh; Check variants, features & more


The Kia Carens Clavis, introduced as an all-new addition to the brand’s lineup, is now available for booking. Unveiled on 9 May, the model is offered in seven variants, three engine options, and eight exterior colours. The Clavis will be sold alongside the existing Carens MPV, which now continues only in the base Prestige (O) variant across all engine options. Deliveries of the Carens Clavis will begin next week.

Kia Carens Clavis:  What’s inside?

The Carens Clavis maintains the familiar MPV silhouette but features a refreshed front fascia, redesigned alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lamps—a new design signature from Kia. Inside, the cabin gets a dual digital screen setup, premium blue-and-beige upholstery, and updated dashboard trims.

The Clavis is available in both six-seater and seven-seater configurations, appealing to larger families and urban buyers alike. In terms of equipment, it comes loaded with Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, electric parking brake, powered driver seat, multi-drive modes, and an updated connected car suite.

Kia Carens Clavis:  Engine and Transmission Options

Buyers have a choice of three engines:

  • 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol: 113 bhp, 144 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual.
  • 1.5L turbo petrol (GDi): 158 bhp, 253 Nm, available with 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, or 7-speed DCT.
  • 1.5L diesel: 113 bhp, 250 Nm, with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
  • The turbo-petrol is expected to be the most popular variant, offering a dynamic performance edge for enthusiasts.

 

Rivals

  • With a wide price bracket, the Carens Clavis competes in multiple segments.
  • Lower to mid trims: Rivals include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
  • Higher trims: Go up against Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
