The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has suggested AICC leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who is on a scheduled visit to Hyderabad on Saturday, to visit some places in Telangana that are badly affected by the decisions of the Congress Government in the State.

Working president of the party K.T. Rama Rao suggested Mr. Gandhi to visit Lagcherla village to witness the scars left by the government and police ‘atrocities on the tribal and other communities’ including women during the process of land acquisition for a pharma cluster there, Sunkishala to examine the collapse retaining wall of the new drinking water supply scheme to Hyderabad, any one of the HYDRAA demolition sites in the City to have first hand knowledge on the government’s victimisation of the poor.

Further, he suggested that the AICC leaders visit the University of Hyderabad and Kancha Gachibowli land, families of farmers who committed suicide, and Ashok Nagar coaching centres to meet youngsters waiting for government jobs. He also suggested Mr. Gandhi to check with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in case he wanted to know how to wriggle out of the ED cases.

Separately, party MLC K. Kavitha accused Mr. Gandhi of ignoring human rights violations in the Congress regime in Telangana. “When you go around the country with a copy of the Constitution in your hand, why [are you] silent when your Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is violating human rights and mocking democracy”, she sought to know.

She remarked that the Congress’ 16-month rule was mostly marked by deceitful promises and blatant lies.

Ms. Kavitha demanded answers on the Congress’ unfulfilled “Six Guarantees” including the partial implementation of the ₹2 lakh farm loan waiver, dilution of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, failure to give 10 grams gold as part of Kalyana Lakshmi in addition to the cash incentive, ₹2,500 monthly aid for women and scooters for girls attending colleges.
