Mall Gram Panchayat wins ₹1 crore assistance under Atma Nirbhar Panchayat special award


Mall Gram Panchayat of Yacharam Mandal in Ranga Reddy district has been selected for the prestigious Atma Nirbhar Panchayat Special Award (ANPSA) for its outstanding efforts in creating own sources of revenue and promoting self-reliance.

The award will be presented during the National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) event to be held in Bihar on April 24.

The Mall Gram Panchayat has topped the nation in this category. At the same time, Hatbadra Gram Panchayat from Mayurbhanj District, Odisha, has secured the second position, and Gollapudi Gram Panchayat from Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, has ranked third. The winners will receive a financial incentive of ₹1 crore, ₹75 lakh, and ₹50 lakh for the first, second, and third positions respectively, along with specially designed trophies and certificates.

According to officials, having a population of 3,211 as per the 2011 census, the Mall Gram Panchayat has focused on revenue earnings, with ₹67 lakh earned in the financial year 2023-24, ₹71 lakh in 2024-25, and a projected ₹82 lakh in 2025-26 from various sources, including tax revenues.

A team of officials led by District Panchayat Officer Suresh Mohan and Zilla Parishad CEO Krishna Reddy will receive the award on behalf of Mall Gram Panchayat.

Expressing happiness over the development, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) stated that raising necessary funds for village development has become a benchmark for empowerment and self-sufficiency. She congratulated the officials who worked towards achieving financial self-reliance for Mall Panchayat, expressing her hope that every Gram Panchayat would follow a similar path to success.
