Maruti Suzuki Price Hike: India’s largest carmaker to increase vehicle prices by up to Rs 62,000 on April 8

Maruti Suzuki India, India’s largest carmaker, announced that it will hike the prices of its passenger vehicles (PVs) by up to Rs 62,000 on April 8, 2025.

“Due to rising input costs, operational expenses, regulatory changes and feature additions, the Company has planned to increase car prices starting on 8th April, 2025. While the Company is committed to optimise costs and reduce the impact on its customers, the Company is constrained to pass on some of the increased expenses to the market,” Maruti Suzuki said in a stock market disclosure.

Here is the list of car models with increased prices:

Grand Vitara: Up to Rs 62,000
Eeco: Up to Rs 22,500
Wagon-R: Up to Rs 14,000
Ertiga: Up to Rs 12,500
XL6: Up to Rs 12,500
Dzire Tour S:  Up to Rs 3,000
Fronx: Up to Rs 2,500

Other automakers like Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Kia India already announced last month that they will increase the prices of their cars in April 2025.

Automakers’ sales in March 2025

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) gained total sales of 7,62,052 units in the financial year 2024-25, the company announced in its exchange filing on Tuesday. The automaker’s domestic sales stood at 5,98,666 units, while exports accounted for 1,63,386 units. In March 2025 alone, HMIL recorded total sales of 67,320 units, with 51,820 units sold in the domestic market and 15,500 units exported. This marked a 2.6% year-on-year growth.

Tata Motors recorded a 3% drop in total CV sales, selling 41,122 units compared to 42,262 units in the same period last year. In contrast, Ashok Leyland saw a 6% increase, and Eicher Motors posted a 7.6% growth, driven by strong domestic and export performance. Read more

Skoda Auto India has set a new benchmark by recording its highest-ever monthly sales in March 2025, with 7,422 units sold. The surge in sales was primarily driven by the strong demand for the all-new Kylaq SUV, alongside the continued popularity of the Slavia and Kushaq models.

TVS Motor Company has reported its highest-ever annual sales, recording a 13 per cent growth in the financial year 2024-25. The company’s total sales for the year reached 4.74 million units, up from 4.19 million units in FY 2023-24.
