Massive protest march against Pahalgam terror attack in Nampally

Hindus and Muslims stood side by side and took to the streets to register their strong protest against the terror attack in Pahalgam.

A large number of people converged near the Hockey Ground at Masab Tank on Thursday. The call for protest was given by Nampally legislator Majid Hussain. Protesters carried the Tricolour, even as they raised slogans seeking justice and strongest punishment for the terrorists. Slogans of “Pakistan Murdabad, Hindustan Zindabad” resonated as a large number of people in the presence of security personnel marched on the streets.

Banners that called for, and celebrated the unity between people of different faiths were also seen. Mr. Hussain raised slogans of “Hindu-Muslim bhai bhai” (Hindus and Muslims are brothers).

Speaking to the media, he condemned the attack. “Today in Nampally, under the banner of Nampally Against Terrorism, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, came together for a “unity candle march” which was massively successful. The people here unitedly gave a message to the terrorists that the unity of India cannot be undermined by their cowardly acts. India was strong, is strong, and will always be strong. We are deeply saddened for those who were killed and we stand with their families, and we mourn their loss,” he said.
