Anantapur Urban MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad expressed ire over the supply of rotten eggs to anganwadi centres in the town.

The MLA, on Tuesday morning, made a surprise visit to the anganwadi centres in Rahmat Nagar in Anantapur and took stock of the conditions there. He inspected the quality of eggs and ‘chikkis’ supplied to the children and found out that some eggs were rotten, while some very small in size. The quality of chikki was also not up to the mark.

Mr. Prasad summoned the staff for their negligent attitude and asked the higher officials to conduct an inquiry and take action on those responsible for the supply of rotten eggs. He also found out that the attendance of the children was not marked and warned of strict action if they continued to run the anganwadi centres in a negligent manner.
