According to Zee Business research, ONGC is estimated to register a standalone net profit of Rs 8,704 crore for the quarter ended March 31, which translates to a quarter-on-quarter increase of 5.6 per cent. The analysts expect the Maharatna company’s March-quarter revenue to come in largely unchanged at Rs 33,611 crore from Rs 33,716 crore three months ago.

ONGC is expected to register a 3.2 per cent sequential decline in its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the March quarter (figures adjusted to survey and exploratory well costs), according to Zee Business research.
The December quarter’s numbers included survey and exploratory well costs to the tune of Rs 1,925 crore.
The state-run company’s adjusted margin is pegged at 54.6 per cent for the quarter ended March 31, as against 56.3 per cent for the October-December period, according to the research.
Zee Business analysts estimate ONGC’s gross and net crude oil realisations to improve each by 2.0 per cent sequentially to $74 per barrel and $54.3 per barrel respectively.

On Tuesday, the mega-cap ONGC stock rose as much as 2.5 per cent to Rs 252.8 apiece on BSE.
At this level, ONGC shares have gained about 5.3 per cent so far in 2025, in line with a 4.2 per cent gain in the headline Nifty 50 index. The Nifty Oil & Gas index grew 7.1 per cent during this period.
