During the early hours of May 7, between 1:05 am and 1:30 am on Wednesday, Indian army carried out precise missile strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strikes aimed at key Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders and camps involved in planning attacks on Indian soil, including those linked to the Pahalgam attack

Barmer District: Holiday declared for all educational institutions

In Barmer, the district collector issued an order declaring a holiday for all government and private schools, including CBSE schools, Anganwadis, and Madrasas, up to class 12. The holiday will remain in effect until further instructions. Examinations scheduled from May 8 have been postponed as well. The district collector emphasized strict compliance with the order and warned of legal action under the Disaster Management Act if any institution head disregards the directive.

Bikaner District: schools closed for safety

The district collector of Bikaner also declared a holiday for all government and private schools, including CBSE institutions and Anganwadis, citing the safety of schoolchildren amid the national security emergency. The holiday will continue until further notice.

Sri Ganganagar: Educational Institutions Closed Until Further Orders

In Sri Ganganagar, a border district like Barmer, a holiday has been declared for all educational institutions, including government and non-government schools, CBSE schools, Madrasas, and Anganwadis, up to class 12. The order issued by the district collector is also in place until further notice, with examinations postponed until further directions.

Jaisalmer: Schools closed in view of national security

Similarly, Jaisalmer has followed suit, declaring a holiday for all government and private schools, including Madrasas and CBSE schools, in light of the security situation. The district collector ordered compliance with the holiday, warning of consequences for any disregard of the instructions.

This precautionary step has been taken as India prepares for potential retaliation from Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. The Indian Army continues to monitor ceasefire violations along the border.
