About 150 people from Tamil Nadu touring various parts of Jammu and Kashmir have contacted the control room set up in the Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi till Thursday (April 24, 2025) evening, in the wake of the terror attack in Pahalgam.
Three tourists who suffered injuries are being treated at Anantnag Medical College Hospital. Multiple sources confirmed that three persons were injured.
As of Thursday evening, 40 people from Tamil Nadu who were touring Jammu and Kashmir arrived in the national capital by road, and were scheduled to leave for Chennai.
Over 70 people were scheduled to fly out of Srinagar and reach Chennai in the early hours of Friday.
Tamil Nadu’s special representative in New Delhi A.K.S. Vijayan and Resident Commissioner Ashish Kumar reviewed the arrangements made in the control room on Thursday. The State government has deputed an IAS officer, a native of Kashmir, to coordinate rescue efforts.
